The Person:

As a member of the Semi-Custom Business Unit within AMD, your execution will help bring to life customers Special requirements for designs to be used in a broad range of products, from tablets to gaming consoles to servers and more. As a member of the SCBU team, you will manage an SOC implementation team, working closely with architecture, IP design, and physical design teams to achieve first pass silicon success

• You will lead an SOC team to work closely with IP development teams, SOC design and verification teams to design and build RTL models of complex SOC projects.
• Work with verification teams for simulation and debug of issues related to the SOC & IP design.
• Work with front-end integration teams on synthesis.
• Collaborate with physical design to facilitate full-chip SOC construction techniques.
• Plan work and drive team according to project schedule
• Provide first level management for your direct reports, including goal setting, coaching, performance appraisals, and compensation recommendations
• Foster an environment for success within your team
• Challenge and grow a team to develop and hone their technical skills
• Provide direct individual contributions as needed to ensure projects are completed on time and with high quality
• Actively work to continuously improve SOC development process
• We are looking for someone who is technically hands on and a great leader

Key Responsibilities:

• BSEE/MSEE Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• 8+ years of ASIC development experience including familiarity with the entire ASIC development process and tools
• 2+ years of hands on experience as a technical manager with a proven track record of dealing with hiring, performance management and coaching of employees
• Proven ability to lead a team to prioritize and execute technical problems
• Communicates openly and clearly in meetings, presentations, emails, and reports
• Significant experience with standard ASIC design tools (synthesis, equivalence checking, static timing analysis, DFT, power check tool, Lint, CDC, vcs)
• Experience with RTL coding in Verilog
• Experience in integrating and compiling complex SOC models with multiple proprietary and third-party IP
• Experience working with Design Verification teams on functional and performance verification
• Experience with IP delivery process and methodologies
