About this role
The UK (small and medium business) SME market is a fast-moving, high volume segment that we address with a variety of sales channels each serving a distinctive purpose. SME in this context considers 6-250 employee companies.
The commercial and proposition team for SME is responsible for setting and delivering the business plan for the segment by creating the right portfolio and the right commercial/trading plan to deliver the business and customer outcomes to win in the market and grow the business profitably.
This role will focus on helping our customers get the best out of what they bought from BT with a focus on the customer set, usage in-life and feedback insights to improve the customer proposition and help to retain the customers and become brand advocates.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Being the “voice of the customerâ€: ensuring we have the very best insight on how our customers use our products & services ensuring we do what’s best for our customers.
Ensuring these outcomes are measured in terms of NPS and customer success.
Market Insights: understanding customer needs, segmentation, trading performance, market position, competitors, our sales channel capabilities, anticipating and mitigating threats. Keeping constant pulse on what’s happening in the market and acting as an insights expert for the voice team.
Work with relevant sales teams: Digital, Field sales, desk-based account managers and Indirect to agree the concepts and go to market plan for key proposition launches. Working with channel management team as needed.
MTP commitments: Jointly accountable for delivering the revenue, profit, and market share targets in the MTP for the proposition launches, withdrawals, and updates.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Customer proposition and marketing – Clear understanding and experience of successfully launching new customer propositions to market and large-scale marketing campaigns. Understanding what a successful go to market approach looks like for SMEs.
Outcome orientated: The role holder must be focused on delivering the best outcomes, being ready to challenge stakeholders as needed and manage areas of conflict with data driven recommendations to deliver at pace.
Customer acumen: Understanding of the levers that drive customer retention, NPS.
Exemplary Communicator: Verbal and PowerPoint presentations that boil complex plans and processes into the key relevant information and/or decision point for stakeholders in BT Enterprise, at all levels from CEO, MD to managerial and operational sales and service teams.
Thinking differently: Someone who is able to challenge the status quo and influence across Enterprise, BT & the wider industry in order to transform our customer relationships and experience.
Effective planner and co-ordinator: This is a complex part of the market and the organisation. This role needs someone who can create momentum behind well-structured plans and effective governance in a highly matrixed environment.
