Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic team members to join our Logistics team as a Shift Manager based at our Distribution Centre in Magor South Wales. This position includes weekend working on a rota’d basis.

As our Shift Manager you’ll plan, direct and co-ordinate the shift operation. You'll improve and drive performance on your shift, ensuring productivity and efficiency of the operation through the provision of effective methods, strategies, and team leadership.

Taking huge pride in what you do, your role will involve leading the day to day shift operation; ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and are cost effective to meet organisational plans within established budget and timescales. Along with;

  • Co-ordinate and monitor the work of all departments within the shift; manage quality and quantity of employee productivity.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to; develop and maintain a Health and Safety culture to ensure well-being of employees, customers and third parties.
  • Maintain the agreed staffing levels, delegate tasks and responsibilities, review progress, establish schedules and monitor performance.
  • Create, implement, and manage operational plans.
  • Forecast, monitor, and control budgets within area of responsibility, ensuring alignment within the Distribution Centre to meet quality, service and cost targets.
  • Encourage and develop managers to identify trends in key performance.
  • Ensure all training and development processes are implemented within the Distribution Centre.

For this role we need someone has experience in an equivalent role within logistics/warehouse environment; with strong leadership skills, ability to influence, lead, coach and support the team. Being able to manage a demanding workload, with the experience of working with unions. Someone with a supportive leadership style; able to challenge behaviour and build capability within team. You’ll effectively plan matching staffing requirements to varying seasonal workload whilst monitoring and reviewing costs.
