We are looking for an upbeat and clinically confident team leader to support a people-focused team that actively make a difference for young people in crisis.

This organisation provides free guidance and support to youth across New Zealand. This is a  work environment that will support your career development and help to upskill you as both a practitioner and a leader. 

  

THE ROLE: 

In this role, you will….

  • Provide a high standard of support to your team and clients that work in a telehealth environment  
  • Provide mentoring and support to volunteers and peer support to staff
  • Work set rostered shifts
  • Make time-sensitive clinical assessments and decisions and hold professional boundaries
  • Ensure a strengths-based, person-centred approach
  • Facilitate effective communication with support agencies
  • Engage in ongoing training and development
  • Be available on weekends and evenings on occasion for training/orientations

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate must be a qualified Mental Health Professional, with current certifications as:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist,  registered DAPAANZ practitioner or, a Counsellor fully registered with NZAC

Ideally, you will also have: 

  • Proven experience in mental health
  • Skilled in identifying and assessing risk (suicide, care and protection, self-harm), safety planning, and interventions and ability to make effective, time-sensitive clinical decisions and review incident reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion and knowledge in supporting young people
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent service and working bi-culturally along with an understanding of the LGBTQ+ community.
