Summary of Role:
Raytheon UK are part of Raytheon Technologies, one of the largest aerospace, intelligence services providers, and defence manufacturers in the world. We are seeking to expand our Defence development team which is focussed on the development and integration of strategic intelligence systems for the UK Defence market. These systems address a diverse range of military intelligence and planning needs, and focus on information integration, processing, and visualisation in a geospatial context.
The Service Architect (SA) will within the Information Exploitation section of the C4I business unit. The role requires a versatile individual who will be responsible for the design and delivery of the processes, organisation and tooling and service management environment to support strategic services for the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). This will also involve analysis and specification of the requirements for enterprise class IT services to support future business bids.
The SA will provide the skills, knowledge, and experience to formulate solutions that will address service requirements and complement existing and future services. The SA will be aware of the organisation\'s strategy and the under-pinning policies that support the strategy going forward.
Working within the Bid Delivery Design team and reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) & Programme Engineering Manager for the development of the Service Design for an enterprise architecture. This will include leading the design and implementation of a new service desk architecture working towards a simple and superior customer experience, supported by the Raytheon technical team. Integration of some existing discrete service desk systems into enterprise service offerings will be key to the success of this programme.
Main Duties:
- Preparation and review of Service Architectures and their implementation for Government protectively marked systems
- Define the requirements for a target Service Delivery solution covering Service Desk, Workflow, Service Reporting and Service Management processes
- Identify candidate technologies to meet the above requirements and work with the sector architectural team to select an optimal set and plan their implementation
- Working with a small and dynamic Bid Delivery Team to introduce the processes supporting of Service Architecture and guiding their implementation
- Working with Government agencies, partners, and suppliers to design and deliver winning Service Strategies and move these through to implementation and beyond
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of end-to-end service desk design, ensuring alignment with the strategic technical architecture
- Responsible for ensuring the solution/design process is adhered to during all phases of project delivery
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to provide understanding of the planned solution and identify possible impact on Service
- Good communication skills with diverse audiences - strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- To identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information security programs and technology projects
- Select appropriate design standards, methods, and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensure they are applied effectively
Candidate Requirements:
Essential skills
- Significant experience in Service definition and delivery within a secure environment working with UK military or intelligence agencies
- Proven success as a Service Architect within a related whole lifecycle Systems Engineering role delivering complex services
- Demonstrated experience managing all technical aspects of a Service Life-Cycle from Requirements definition to Service Obsolescence
- Experience of significant Service Management and Design roles under the ITIL V3 or V4 framework including managing client engagements
- Established technical experience delivering major, complex programmes, and in particular, direct experience of technical delivery of complex Information Technology (IT) services
- Proven success integrating efforts and products from major subcontractors
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in matrix environment including working collaboratively with multiple teams across agencies and physical locations
- Strong communication skills, written, oral and listening skills; strong business acumen and diverse business perspective; ability to think logically and strategically
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and independently with individuals at various levels including the leadership team, customers, and suppliers
- Holder of current SC clearance, or the ability to gain
Desirable skills of interest
- Knowledge of in-service support/service operations in a Defence Intelligence environment
- Knowledge of security architecture, multi-level security engineering solutions, deployments, and accreditation
- Knowledge of GEOINT and SIGINT, ACINT, MASINT, OSINT, HUMINT and the analysis of the data and information
- Knowledge of Virtualised systems hosted in multiple data centres across an enterprise
