We are seeking an experienced claims management individual to further develop their leadership skills and join our national team in Murarrie, QLD as the Senior Workers Compensation Claims Manager. Looking after a diverse portfolio of business units, this role is responsible for the management and performance of a variety of claims and being the subject matter expert in the Queensland team.

Senior Workers Compensation Claims Manager responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all decisions and actions are made within appropriate time frames and are sound and proper within relevant legislation, internal and external guidelines, procedures, and company policy.
  • Provide technical advice to team members and key stakeholders and assist with complex claims.
  • Management, as required, of common law claims and settlements
  • Management of an allocated claims portfolio to ensure service delivery and compliance is uncompromising.
  • Negotiate with key stakeholders, including injured workers, nominated medical practitioner service providers and Injury Management Advisors to achieve agreed goals.
  • Maintain well documented files notes that are accurate, objective and concise, being aware of the relationship between accurate file notes and the need for procedural fairness.  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a Workers Compensation Case Management role (Self insurer or scheme agent).
  • Excellent knowledge of Queensland Workers Compensation Act, Regulations and Codes.
  • Superior negotiation, conflict management and people management skills.
  • Ability to deliver agreed objectives in an timely and professional manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong communication and influencing ability.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to work under time constraints.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic management systems associated with managing workers compensation
