This is a UK based role with an EU-wide scope and a direct interaction and impact with Amazon European Fulfilment Network. EU cross-borders flows represent ~250MM units every year and play a critical part in offering large selection with fast promise for customers all over Europe. It involves many internal stakeholders responsible for enabling middle mile flows via ground, air and sea connections and through multiple nodes. EU Transportation is responsible to coordinate the transportation network readiness to allow those cross-border flows to continue after customs borders are put in place.
We are looking for a passionate, results-orientated, project manager able to drive such a critical business change in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and business partners. You will earn trust, but have strong backbone and are willing to drive hard to ensure that you and the team delivers performance in the face of competing trade-offs and agendas. You will have the quantitative/analytical skills to be able to zoom into the detail, and find the misaligned piece of the process. You will have the ability to distill a complex of details and interactions into a succinct storyline and a clear call to action. Leadership update and stakeholders management is pivotal.
This is a highly visible role that requires partnering with complex stakeholders across the business -- Global Logistics, Amazon Transportation Services, Amazon Air, Network Design, Retail & FBA. The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis skills, quantitative acumen, and great communication (written and verbal). You will be responsible for creating plans and presenting your ideas in written form for reviews with senior leadership.
The Transportation project manager will lead the Brexit transport readiness effort, driving simultaneous streams and coordinating a large span of stakeholders. The candidate will play a key role in securing post-Brexit business continuity and seamless transition for customers. Building a collaborative and preferred relationship with a variety of internal stakeholders, many in different geographies, will be essential to succeed.
Basic qualifications
· Bachelor's degree required.
· Supply chain, transportation operations, and/or project management experience
· Proven problem solving and project management skills
· Demonstrable problem-solving, mathematics and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment
· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-oriented work environment
· Experience in writing SQL queries and mining databases
· · Master’s level degree or higher preferred.
· Familiarity with operations and supply chain management concepts - forecasting, planning, optimization, logistics - gained through work experience or graduate level education.
