About the Team

The Planning and Programs team delivers on the vision, leads change and focuses on outcomes and benefits, bringing the strategic priorities of Regional and Outer Metropolitan to life. We plan integrated solutions over the short to medium term (0 to 10 years), and prioritise programs of work and solutions to deliver on community and customer needs and requirements

The Opportunity

Right now, we have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for a Senior Transport Planner to join the team and lead the development of transport plans and programs to ensure alignment of transport policy, services and infrastructure and inform network improvement priorities.

You will be required to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to identify transport challenges and opportunities and then devise customer-focused solutions.

The role contributes to the delivery of a range of Transport Planning projects, including place-based planning, integrated network planning, as well as developing and overseeing future programs and initiatives, to support the achievement of NSW government’s vision and priorities.

About you

The role will suit someone with a background in Transport Planning, Urban and Regional Planning or Town Planning, but we will also consider people from other backgrounds with relevant skills and experience.

Critical thinking is key for the role. The role has lots of projects on the go at any one point in time, and requires high level problem-solving, creativity, and perseverance.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. You will need to be able to build rapport and develop strong stakeholder relations across multiple internal and external sources. You will need to leverage these relationships to seek the appropriate advice and information required to inform your decisions, as well as negotiate outcomes and overcome challenges.

The role supports a variety of work in Regional NSW. We have offices at a number of locations across NSW and encourage people regionally based in New South Wales to apply as we have flexible working arrangements available.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 8 – ($120,423 - $134,872) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
