About this role

Working in strategy means you'll be at the very heart of helping decide what the BT of tomorrow will look like. We work with the most senior stakeholders in the Consumer business delivering projects to investigate new ideas, respond to challenges and shape new concepts. We also help our CEO tell the story of the business and ensure continued alignment with the Consumer strategy.

In the strategy team we provide thought leadership and constructive challenge to the business, using strong analytics and strategic creativity to identify ways to deliver sustainable growth across the Consumer division. We put customer needs and demands at the heart of everything that we do to ensure we are focussed on delivering brilliant customer experiences and market leading solutions.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Underpin growth of the consumer business by identifying transformational opportunities in the 2-5 year horizon 

• Leading project teams to deliver key strategic projects for Consumer from initial idea through to customer research and building the business case to the final decision

• Designing robust analysis (both quantitative and qualitative) to understand the impacts of proposed changes or ideas

• Oversees and assists in the development of clear and insightful material to develop and communicate the CFU strategy to a range of internal and external audiences

• Provides senior consultancy and specialist advice on a range of strategic issues

• Building clear, well-presented slide decks (using PowerPoint) with a clear flow and message that help get key points across quickly and concisely

• Building long-lasting relationships with senior stakeholders (MDs, CEO, CFO) across the business, whilst maintaining the  ability to challenge traditional models and ways of thinking

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Communication - Experience building senior leadership team briefings and board packs. Ability to clearly, succinctly and concisely present recommendations on complex and ambiguous problems. Ownership and ability to follow things through until the end in a matrix organisation. Ability to apply clear frameworks to problems, break information down, and build a narrative

• Storytelling - You drive and role model the articulation of the most complex concepts and /or data using simple, compelling and coherent narratives. You deliver narratives to internal and external audiences at all levels consistently judging the demands of the situation.

• Use data analytics - You coordinate and establish the development and use of data analytics to make decisions. You provide comprehensive technical expertise to deliver data analytics capability.

• Leadership - You advise key stakeholders and help them to navigate through critical business changes. You coach and develop the team, providing structure and planning workloads to maximise the output of the team.
