The Group has approximately 40% of the nation’s domestic payment transactions passing through its systems, processing tens of billions of pounds in value daily. Our Payments, Fraud and Financial Crime (PFFC) IT team is at the heart of it all as we develop and maintain capability to become the best bank for customer. About the role
As the Bank moves to building out a strategic roadmap, both from an application infrastructure and tooling, PFFC are embracing this and building capability to do enable this transformation. The Payment microservices team is an agile based delivery team, building key strategic microservices for the Payments estate, supporting several category A services for the organisation.
You\'ll deliver business value by delivering reliable, scalable, and working software to production. You\'ll also ensure platforms and services are built consistently with industry best practice and standards. You\'ll be responsible for the domain application stack, understanding application integration and E2E flow, and be comfortable communicating this at all levels, from the business design down to root-cause analysis with engineers/developers.

What minimum skills and background experience we need from you:
You have a record designing business value through sound and fully rounded engineering methods and principles, ensuring platforms and software are built consistently with relevant patterns and practices. You\'ll also have strong stakeholder engagement experience and a passion for mentoring other engineers, driving a strong team culture!
Ideally, you\'ll be knowledgeable in any of the following payments areas: UK Domestic Payments (Cheques, Faster Payments, BACS), International Payments (SWIFT/SEPA), Trade, Legal, Regulatory & Mandatory projects in Payment’s areas, New Payments Architecture.
