Job Description

Our Canadian Federal Defence client is looking for a Senior Software Tester (Level 3) to come and work on the Canadian Forces Range Information System (CFRIS) project under their Military Command Software Centre (MCSC) program. This is a won contract and our client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

The Senior Software Tester (Level 3) will perform tasks in support of CFRIS that may include but are not limited to:

• Test Planning and co-ordination for CFRIS application;
• Provide application guidance and assistance via telephone or in-person concerning test planning and co-ordination of MCSC applications;
• Establish and operate 'interoperability' testing procedures to ensure that the interaction and co-existence of various software elements, which are proposed to be distributed on the common infrastructure, conform to appropriate departmental standards (e.g. For performance, compatibility, etc.) and have no unforeseen detrimental effects on the shared infrastructure;
• Establish software testing procedures for unit test, integration testing and regression testing with emphasis on automating the testing procedures
• Share software testing procedures by providing advice on range safety subject matter issues to the client using the specialized software;
• Provide user training and feedback sessions at various areas and bases;
• Produce Distance Learning and User Help Files using the COTS application Tactic. (or the appropriate DLN tool);
• Collect new requirements and change requests and their impact on test plans from users;
• Participate in Working Groups and application validation procedures;
• Liaise with stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies and operation of MCSC applications;
• Validation and verification capability which assumes functional compliance by providing subject matter expertise for military weapon systems, their deployment, and the employment of safety zone boundaries as they relate to specific weapon systems on CAF live-fire training ranges; and
• Any other Tester Level 3 related tasks requested by the TA to support operations.
   

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

• You must have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Tester;
• You must have a minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience within the past five (5) producing Distance Learning and/or User Help Files;
• You must have a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience within the past five (5) years in, leading Workshop Groups related to Application testing; and
• You must have a minimum of five (5 ) years of demonstrated experience within the past 10 years with safety assessments of live and dry firing ranges.

Nice-to-have / Rated Requirements

• You should have 2-5 years of experience producing Distance Learning and/ or User Help files; and
• You should have demonstrated experience managing either Civilian or CAF range safety software.
