Job Description

The SharePoint Workplace Experiences (WEX) team is excited to grow a new team in the Atlanta Microsoft Technology Center. We are looking for a talented engineer to be design leader and mentor on this new full-stack engineering team that contributes to our vision of bringing leading solutions for enterprise, front-line workers, and educational users.

Office 365 is one of the leading paid cloud services in the world, winning fans in both the enterprise, education, and small business. Our team is responsible for transforming the SharePoint portal and platform experiences to be simple, fast, and mobile in a cloud-centric world. We are a team that loves big challenges and has a long history of shipping features that impact across Microsoft 365.

We work on a very broad set of problems and experiences spanning mobile and web. We own pages, portals, and developer platform for SharePoint, and are accountable for weaving intelligence throughout these and making sure they work great with native mobile experiences. We owned marquee features such as SharePoint home sites, which connect users with their work, enterprise search, people, and with company knowledge. We build delightful experiences, with a customer driven focus always iterating on a great authoring experience in modern pages for SharePoint, and we empower customers and developers to enrichen their experiences on SPFx (the SharePoint modern client-side framework). We’ve had incredible growth topping 30M MAU on modern experiences, and are partnering deeply with Teams to unlock scenarios with front-line workers (FLW) and educational users (EDU). This is a unique opportunity to take the trends, simplicity bar, and fast iteration from a consumer service but combine it with the deep customer connection, exciting business model, developer focus, and tradition of Microsoft’s success of our enterprise businesses.  If you’re ready to work on the cutting edge of delivering cloud services and design experiences people will rely on every day to get their job done, this is the role for you.

We rely heavily on Azure, C#, REST services, open source frameworks such as React, Typescript/CSS, AdaptiveCards, and mobile/device specific development. We are working on several customer experiences that span multiple teams across Microsoft, including Teams, FAST/Delve, Azure, Exchange, O365 Apps, O365 Suite, and Yammer.

Responsibilities

We are looking for smart, agile, and intellectually curious engineers who love creating and building things that delight our customers. You will be working with a team of amazing engineers, PM and designers, and work closely with our partners across Microsoft to deliver large scale, distributed architectures and features to meet SharePoint customer needs.

Qualifications

You would be a good fit for our team if...

1. You are a talented developer with at least 5+ years of Software Development experience with a proven track history of delivering great experiences to customers.

2. You are truly passionate about software engineering, with a strong emphasis on agile development, and are eager to work full stack to deliver a great e2e experience.

3. You can empathize with our end-users’ needs and want to engage to help define their key experiences.

4. You’re excited about the opportunity to take rotations as a Tech Lead for a project to grow your leadership, influence, and architectural skills.

5. You are passionate about engineering culture and velocity, driving a culture of rapid, responsible iteration with our incredibly engaged (and growing!) user base.

6. You are a great collaborator and partner and proactively seek to build productive win-wins across teams.

7. You have a BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

If this resonates with you, come find out how your contribution can impact SharePoint Online and the world.
