We have one of the most exciting and challenging environments in the world, with a global scale and enterprise requirements. Engineering Fundamentals (EF) team focuses on building a foundation of common tools, platforms, metrics and processes that help to digitally transform the development life-cycle of Cloud services.  We build and identify opportunities to optimize usage of various Cloud technologies. Utilizing the ecosystem of our solutions, we are the leaders in Azure Modernization space. We proactively identify Cloud optimizations, build solutions to manage Azure budget spend/forecasting and proactively alert on Azure budget and cost deviations for enterprise teams. We then utilize this experience and collaborate with various Azure Product groups to build external Azure product features for Microsoft’s enterprise customers.  

The Engineering Fundamentals (EF) Team is looking for a seasoned Agile Senior Software Engineer with proven track record of building distributed cloud services and passion for building big-data analytics solutions. In this role you will build and manage enterprise Cloud services using the latest Azure technologies. You will work closely with team of developers and PMs in this role. You are expected to champion and follow the best practices of live-site, compliance and Azure modern engineering standards. You will be exposed to many internal tools that drive our business intelligence, operational efficiency and incident awareness. We constantly explore new opportunities to grow our solution set. Responsibilities

You will be working with a team of PMs, Business Managers and Software Engineers. You will be responsible for the end to end design and development of  big data ingestion, processing and generation of business insights and key metrics for Azure Optimizations. You will also be responsible for building automated solutions to manage Azure budget Spend. You will build and manage these enterprise services using the latest Azure technologies. Influencing Cloud services design for scalability, reliability, efficiency as well as implementing them and working with partners across the org will be significant part of this job. Experience building ML models and passion for data analysis are a plus. 

Qualifications

- BS/MS in Computer Science (or higher degree) or related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience building software solutions using Cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) in C#/C++/Java.

- Proficient in Test Driven Development using C#/C++/Java or other object-oriented programing language.

- Experience owning and developing product and features end-to-end.
- Passion for working with BIG DATA; prior experience working with BIG DATA, ML technologies a plus,

- Advanced conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to design, develop and ship scalable, reliable, high-quality software solutions.
- Ability to partner with PMs and business partners to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs while driving innovation.
- Ability to work in a culture of continuous improvement, adaptation, reflection and growth.

- Great team player and ability to mentor other engineers within and outside team.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
