The Office Apex Graphics team is an experienced and highly passionate group at Microsoft that builds and supports core code used across Office on Apple platforms. The Office Apex Graphics team is responsible for a full stack of components ranging from top level UI all the way down to low level rendering abstractions.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer on the Apex Graphics team, you will be responsible for:

• Development of key user experiences in Office apps across macOS and iOS.
• Development of key components depended on by all Office developers.
• End-to-end ownership for your areas including architecture, design, code, test, and telemetry coverage.
• Partnership across disciplines as well as across teams to help deliver experiences that delight our customers.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering and design experience in one of the following: C, C++, C#, Python
• Mac or iOS experience leveraging Objective-C or Swift 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• 3+ years of Mac or iOS experience, including Objective-C, Swift, SwiftUI, or cross-platform development
• Experience with graphics APIs, including Metal, Quartz, OpenGL, DirectX, etc.
• Large scale commercial software development experience is a plus
• Technical domain specific expertise such as: User Interfaces, Multithreading, OS fundamentals, Rendering, Performance, Telemetry, Shaders, Inking, Video
