We’re on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer (Mobile) to work closely with our engineering and product teams to deliver the first iteration of a novel embedded Fintech platform within Employment Hero. The eBenefits + Fintech squad is a new team within Employment Hero, focused on building products that improve employment outcomes for employees. To achieve this, we're creating a new fintech platform and infrastructure, which is separate and distinct to the existing infrastructure that Employment Hero has in place.
Reporting to our Lead Engineer, you will form an integral component of our payments technical council and, together with the Solution Architect & Lead Engineer, accelerate the development of the payments platform. This is a pivotal new role in framing and scaling the next phase of our Employment Hero journey, as we integrate nextgen fintech capabilities into our employee Payments and Benefits offers.

Responsibilities
Hands-on design + delivery of our Mobile and Web applications - Plan, Test, Build and Release (you gotta love writing code)
Champion of agile, presenting and communicating effectively with stakeholders, senior management and 3rd party vendors
Provide technical guidance and support best practice within our engineering team, spearheading the development our new employment and fintech SuperApp
Work across the full technology stack, accelerating the design of our new payment solutions
Participate in strategic product and technical fintech decision processes
Assist ongoing integration by subsequent squads back into platform
Design + lead technical best practices (git flow, code reviews, etc.)
Requirements
5+ years designing and building highly scalable distributed software systems
3+ years experience with React Native
Advocate of engineering best practices such as CI/CD, clean code, automated testing etc.
Pragmatism - Ability to assess the situation before taking decisions
Highly collaborative and a team player
Strong product mindset - Keeping a customer focus when making decisions
Strong opinions, loosely held. An ability to evolve with the platform as it grows and scales
These things aren't required, but they'd be an added bonus!
Experience in fintech, particularly w/r/t card / payment processing or consumer finance
Experience defining test, build, and deploy strategies for payments products
Understanding of financial system security requirements and standards compliance
Experience integrating with banking systems and protocols
Experience in implementing cloud SaaS product (backend)
