The Opportunity 

Transport for New South Wales is seeking for 2 x Senior Software Engineer (Integration) to join the Platform Services Management team. This role is a temporary full time until 31 May 2024 and is based at Macquarie Park with flexible work arrangements.

 

You will be involved in real time integration using iPaaS, ESB, API Gateway tooling to deliver SOAP/ REST or JMS services, build APIs for exposing backend application functions to 3rd party or SaaS applications or creating and exposing microservices. Successful individuals will be responsible for building and uplifting current maturity and capability in the team together with driving reliability and resilience engineering initiatives throughout the development teams.

 

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for, but not limited to:  

Deliver technical expertise, to a diverse range of stakeholders, to support the operation of Transport applications, including providing technical support.

Influence and deliver quality software for software projects by undertaking all aspects of the software development life cycle to meet development stream objectives.

Analyse and translate both functional and non-functional user requirements to convert and create quality software design and system specifications.

Contribute and develop quality software by creating software feature design specifications to deliver quality software solutions.

Conduct verification, debugging and testing in a local environment to deliver stable and functional software that performs to documented requirements.

Maintain accurate system bug tracking data and all related systems documents to monitor their compliance to agreed quality standards.

Undertake appropriate testing, using suitable tools for diagnosing and rectifying issues, and support application software releases and development updates to guarantee performance, functionality and reliability objectives are met.

Direct Reports

The role may/will have a variable number of direct and indirect reports depending on business/ project requirements.

 

About You: 

To be successful in the role;

Expert in designing / delivering integration services.

Demonstrated experience of using industry leading tools for integration functions like iPaaS / Enterprise Service Bus (such as TIBCO, MuleSoft, Boomi, Microsoft), Event streaming (Such as Kafka), API Gateway (such as Kong, Layer 7, APIM), Batch integration.

Experience of working in Public Cloud (such as AWS, Azure) and flexibility to learn and implement new public cloud services.

Demonstrated experience in development of SOAP / REST services and Microservices.

Demonstrated experience in designing Integration solutions in a large, hybrid environment servicing a broad spectrum of diverse applications.

Knowledge of developing and running containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Docker).

Experience of using supporting tools related to DevOps, logging, monitoring, alerting, and testing.

 

Salary and Benefits 

The salary for this position is Transport Grade 9 ($138,670 - $155,309) plus 10% superannuation and annual leave loading.
