The IC3 Media AI Team is responsible for building an AI powered media stack and delivering first party camera effects for Microsoft’s most important products in Realtime communication, including Teams and Skype, which account for millions of daily calls. We have an opening for a passionate and self-motivated engineer to contribute to our cross-platform Media AI stack and ecosystem support, focusing on performance to take full advantage of the hardware in one of the largest device ecosystems.

Responsibilities

As a member of our team you will architect, design and implement real time audio and video technologies and innovations used in Teams products taking advantage of hardware capabilities (e.g., AI chip offloading). This position gives you a unique opportunity of working on state-of-the-art HW and SW video as well as collaborating with several other key communication technologies. It will also give you the opportunity to have cross company impact on the hardware ecosystem. You will be working very closely with Microsoft researchers to bring in ML/AI innovations in areas such as computer vision to the millions of Teams users.

Qualifications

- 7+ years of development experience in Android/Windows/iOS multimedia applications.
- Solid design and coding skills in Modern C++.
- Video coding and processing.
- Solid knowledge of OpenGL/OpenCL and graphics image processing.
- Competent in design and development as part large scale products, and familiar with Agile development methodologies.
- Experiences in deep learning based segmentation or generation models or bringing Machine Learning models to production is a plus.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills.
