The London team is seeking a senior software developer to lead, design, and build an engaging Contextual Product Q&A customer experience on Amazon's shopping app that is used by millions of customers globally. What we are looking for: We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer with a strong technical background, customer obsession and bias for action with a track record of leading and delivering robust solutions quickly. Strong judgment and communication skills, long-term technical vision, and continuous focus on engineering and operational excellence are essential for the success in this role.
Given that this is an early-stage initiative, you will play an active role in building quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s (or above) Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
· Computer Science fundamentals in software design, data structures, algorithms, problem solving and complexity analysis.
· Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Go, Python, Ruby, C++, or C.
· Proficiency in system architecture.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Ability to own the full lifecycle of major software engineering projects, from scoping requirements through the launch and operational support.
· Ability to work across the organisation and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to collect requirements, disambiguate, and define technical strategy.
