About this role
Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager of CPS Leadership team, this role will be responsible for major and complex deals for our largest customers, usually with opportunity in the £10-£100m value range.
This role will be responsible for ensuring bids and propositions are innovative, competitive, and affordable, whilst maximising value to BT and satisfying customers’ requirements, as well as taking responsibility for the customer facing dialogue at CxO level when bringing to a conclusion and closing the biggest deals in CPS.
This role is accountable for co-ordinating across multiple functions to bring our biggest bids to a head in a commercially optimum way; leading a team consisting of legal, bid finance, commercial, service delivery, technical solution design and sales with bid management support as well as optimising the Technical, Commercial and Financial environments to maximise BT’s position.
This role will be responsible for managing and building support from key internal stakeholders within Enterprise (CPS, MD, Enterprise CEO, Enterprise CFO, Enterprise Service MD and beyond for bigger deals including Group CEO and Group CFO).
You'll have the following responsibilities
Assemble the team from across Enterprise and sometimes outside of Enterprise to win our biggest business opportunities.
Identify decision makers, get budget for programme, develop win strategy.
Gain sufficient influence in customer organisations to inform their thinking on commercially appropriate solutions for their business, high levels design and competitive positioning.
Provide industry leading expertise (techno-commercial) and leadership on the most significant bids in terms of value, strategic importance and complexity.
Shape and develop specific business opportunities, closing deals, negotiating contracts terms and pricing.
Work with all relevant groups to develop and negotiate the final contract in readiness for hand-over to the Contract/Business Management team.
Find the best balance between the commercial, technical, financial and legal solution in the bid, which both mitigates against significant risk to BT and maximises our profit opportunity.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Be comfortable with complexity and should be able to establish and communicate this complexity across a mixed team of sales, technology, service/delivery and financial professionals.
Create a competitive advantage to BT by leveraging and creating internal and external relationships and applying the knowledge gained to improving bid success rates.
Expert level skills in constructing compelling deal solutions and getting them across the line with customers, co-ordinating stakeholders on the BT and customer side in order to bring a deal to conclusion.
Very strong commercial skills with a deep understanding of factors impacting contract profitability, P&Ls – able to find the optimum balance between a robust solution and a highly profitable deal
Broad experience stretching across all disciplines which contribute to our highest complexity and revenue deals (legal finance, technical, services programme delivery and sales)
