From single dwellings to terraced housing projects, their skilled team of architects, builders, planners, engineers, project managers and sales personnel take responsibility for the entire build journey, keeping the process for their customers simple and stress-free. Knowing that every step of the building process is managed carefully, their customers rest easy, making it easy for them to invest and develop property in Auckland.

The Opportunity:

To support the ongoing company growth, they are seeking to appoint an experienced and inspired strategic Sales Manager, who will be able to compliment the senior leadership team with continuous improvement, efficiency gains and new ways to build the business.

The company’s sales team of eleven, is very capable and performing well. They generate sales by building relationships with the company’s customers, who could be homeowners developing their first investment, or more seasoned property developers or investors.

This is a hands-on role, which will suit an innovative, collaborative, people-centric leader, who understands how to coach and motivate a high-performing sales team to become the best that they can be.

The Role:                                                                                      

  • Works to understand the business and its complexities
  • Become a valued and active part of the senior leadership team, leading interdepartmental communication.
  • Overall financial responsibility for the sales team’s budget and sets KPI’s to achieve this
  • Leads the team to become best in class, equipping them with the tools to enjoy continued success
  • Plans and implements sales strategies to drive company growth, across the team and with individuals
  • Builds relationships with each team member. Works to understand their personal drivers and goals and helps them reach those goals
  • Holds regular sales team meetings and coaching sessions to improve teams’ overall sales performance
  • Ensures the team are aligned to the company’s processes and supports them when complexities arise

About you:

  • Significant sales management experience, achieving revenue growth from high performing sales teams
  • Listens. Enjoys learning. Invests time into understanding the business and its people
  • Strives for productivity, profitability, continued improvement, and best practice
  • An ‘out of the box’ thinker, innovative and able to make improvements to business processes
  • Commercially equipped to make complex business decisions
  • Has a growth mindset, focused on ways of growing and building business
  • A strong communicator, facilitator, and negotiator, with high level relationship building skills
  • Able to cultivate a culture of high achievement, through empowerment and accountability
  • Adaptable. Understands that a cookie cutter approach does not suit every team
  • Is equipped to have motivational, coaching conversations that positively drive performance
  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline
  • A strong interest in the NZ residential construction market
  • Industry experience is preferred but not necessary
  • Someone who values client relationships, and upholds traditional values of integrity, reliability, and good service
