We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our Risk team as a Senior Risk and Audit Manager based remotely with monthly ad hoc travel to our Support Centre in Worksop. 

As our Senior Risk and Audit Manager you’ll be joining a growing function, working across the wilko group, playing an integral role in our strategic plans. Leading our talented audit & risk team made up of 3 direct reports and 4 indirect, you'll be fully accountable for designing and implementing an overall risk management framework and process for the wilko. This is a great opportunity for someone to lead our team wilko continues to meet it's progressive business objectives. 

Taking huge pride in what you do, your role will involve establishing the level of risk we are willing to take by defining a risk appetite framework across the business; advising Directors and key stakeholders on the framework, running risk workshops and horizon scanning sessions for the boards and key departments as needed. Along with:

• Performing risk assessments and evaluation by analysing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company, and evaluating the company’s key risks, previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements.
• Educating the board of directors about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business heads understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks.
• Having overall responsibility for delivery of the approved Internal Audit & Compliance Plan, by planning and conducting risk based internal audits and other assurance assignments, ensuring that all work is delivered on time, to the required standards and within budget.
• Providing consistent reporting on risk, audit and compliance matters tailored to the relevant audience. This will include presenting and delivering key messages at the Risk Executive Group and Audit & Risk Committee to Directors and other key stakeholders.
• Building risk awareness amongst team members by providing engagement, support and training.
• Conducting special investigations into suspected fraud, irregularities, misconduct, or alleged impropriety, where appropriate.

For this role we need someone who has at least 5 year's experience in the audit and risk field with previous managerial accountabilities. Membership of an Internal Audit and/or Institute of Risk would be beneficial as we want you to be wilko's SME; use to working with a broad range of stakeholder's, you'll be comfortable leading committee's and engaging the board on important matters when it comes to audit & risk. An expert at an excel spreadsheet, you'll be able to hit the ground running, easily identifying the key risks to wilko based on your knowledge and experience.
