About our team

The People Capability team supports the organisation to look after our greatest strength - our people. We understand that to get the best outcomes for children and young people, our people need to be at their best too.

We're currently expanding our Sourcing & Selection team and we are passionate about exploring inclusive ways of recruiting to attract diverse talent. We are hiring for recruiters who will be focused on a specific business portfolio and also be involved in at least one of our workstreams – Gender Pay, Deployment, Early in Career, Culture & Inclusion – that aligns with your interest.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the role

You will be responsible for planning, developing and coordinating end-to-end recruitment to support managers in sourcing and hiring the best available talent for the role.

The role provides expert input to the development of resourcing, sourcing and selection approaches for the Ministry and leads specific streams of work to ensure a robust framework for recruitment to operate within.

We want all candidates to have a great experience. Therefore, the role will also be responsible for ensuring the recruitment process is inclusive and accessible, and supporting the Managers in keeping candidates informed and engaged throughout the hiring process. 

You'll have the backing of a friendly, supportive, knowledgeable team where you can further develop and broaden your skills and experience.

Mōhou ake | About you

You will have a strong recruitment background (in-house or agency) with strengths in talent sourcing, assessment and selection and the ability to take a consultative approach with senior stakeholders.

You will bring with you:

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with hiring managers as a trusted advisor
  • Demonstrated experience with sourcing techniques and technology across a range of functions/sectors
  • Knowledge of unconscious bias in recruitment and approaches to mitigate them
  • Highly organised and an eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and think ahead so that activities are delivered to timelines
  • Experience working with/in a large complex organisation.
