We are currently seeking a Senior Readiness Advisor. 

The opportunity | Ngā whakaritenga o te mahi

In this position you will play a key role in responding to public health events, outbreaks and emergencies while: 

  • Leading the ARPHS emergency management maintenance and resources portfolio  
  • Ensuring ARPHS is ready for public health incidents and emergencies 
  • Facilitating training and exercising to prepare the organisation for a response
  • Supporting and advising on  public health emergency management activities including reduction, readiness, response, recovery and business continuity 
  • Supporting emergency management internal and external stakeholder relationships and communications
  • Supporting ARPHS after-hours (on-call) services through the development of systems and processes, planning, monitoring, training and reporting
  • Support the preparation for the transition from ARPHS to Health NZ.

About you | He kōrero mōu  

Given the importance of this role, you will have:

  • A relevant Tertiary qualification plus a full and current driver’s license
  • Five years plus experience in emergency management function activities and development and application of the CIMSmodel.
  • Five years plus experience in regional level emergency reduction, readiness, response and recovery activities
  • 5 years plus experience in developing presentations, training plans and facilitating training/adult learning and project management experience
  • Knowledge of the Civil Defence and Emergency Management laws and structures in New Zealand 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant national and regional plans in emergency management
