About us

 

The Office of Transport Safety Investigations (OTSI) is an independent statutory office within the Transport portfolio. OTSI’s role is to improve the safety of the NSW transport network by conducting and reviewing investigations into rail, bus, and ferry accidents and incidents; identifying contributing factors to an accident or incident; and sharing insights with transport operators, regulators, and other key stakeholders, with the aim of encouraging the implementation of safety actions to prevent recurrence.

 

OTSI has an established reputation as a highly knowledgeable, credible, and impartial investigatory body that is critical to safety improvement across the NSW transport network.

 

About team

 

Safety Promotion is a new team within OTSI which develops and delivers education and awareness initiatives for key transport safety issues and priorities across all modes and leads the establishment and maintenance of partnerships with key stakeholders to support the achievement of OTSI’s objectives and priorities.

 

 

The opportunity

 

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Senior Project Officer. The Senior Project Officer applies research, analytics, and reporting expertise to the delivery of OTSI’s safety promotion and stakeholder engagement initiatives and ensures they are effectively planned, monitored, and evaluated.

 

This new role also coordinates OTSI’s corporate planning and performance processes, as well as the preparation and distribution of critical annual reports.

About you

 

You are a passionate Project Officer, who is a natural self-starter, with excellent research, analytical and reporting skills. You are a natural collaborator with a can-do attitude.

 

You will have:

 

Experience supporting the delivery of strategic projects across multiple portfolios and monitoring against key milestones and deliverables.

Experience supporting business planning and performance reporting requirements across multiple functions.

Strong communication, liaison and interpersonal skills that reflect capacity to build constructive professional relationships with key people at all levels.

Strong planning, coordination, organisation, and time management skills to meet deadlines.

Strong research, analytical, information preparation, and reporting skills.

Formal qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience in a complex stakeholder environment.

 

 

Salary and Benefits 

 

The salary for this position is Grade 8 ($120,423 - $134,872) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
