About the team
The Senior Project Officer leads and manages the delivery of allocated projects so that planned outcomes are achieved, particularly related to schedule, scope, benefits realization, budget, risk and stakeholder management.
You will be working in a large team engaging with multiple stakeholders, where no two days will be the same.
The opportunity
We currently have a Temporary fixed term opening for a Senior Project Officer role within the Sydney Trains Strategy, Portfolio Investment, Portfolio Management/ Business Readiness Interface. The newly formed Strategy, Portfolio and Investment (SP&I) branch leads Sydney Trains Strategy and Planning, Investment Management, Enterprise Portfolio Management, the Network Growth Portfolio, Reporting and Analytics, and Transformation.
The branch is accountable for setting the Sydney Trains strategy and managing investment priorities, funding and allocations. It provides best practice project management services across the business while delivering large scale, enterprise-wide programs of work to achieve the long-term strategic objectives of Sydney Trains.
You will work autonomously across several key Sydney Trains strategic projects and initiatives that directly impact our front line and customer which require significant business stakeholder interface across all levels in supporting the Sydney Trains and New South Wales Train Link business leads in bringing these programs to life.

Key accountabilities
Initiate new projects and work streams where required and manage project to ensure timeframes and deliverables are achieved to scope and budget
Develop and control project schedules and planning activities to ensure modules are completed according to established project milestones
Manage key project stakeholders (internal/external) to define and integrate project outputs to business as usual

About you
We are looking for a proactive Senior Project Officer, to come and join the team. You will be working in highly collaborative and influential team player, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, able to track schedules and execute safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities consistent with Sydney Trains. You will be responsible for ensuring projects deliver outputs that align with operational and maintenance requirements to optimize business and customer outcomes for Sydney Trains.
Essentials Criteria:
Demonstrated experience as a high-level Project Officer
Good understanding of Project Management principles
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Sound organisational skills including the ability to prioritise workload & meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated team player
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is RC Grade 6 ($127,559 - $141,442) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
