About the team

The City and Southwest Project Delivery team is managing planning and construction of the Sydney Metro rail network from Chatswood in Sydney’s North, under Sydney Harbour, into the CBD and all the way through to Bankstown in Sydney’s South. It’s a program of epic proportions which will bring together technical specialists, world-class technology and innovative ways of working to provide Sydney with better, faster and more reliable journeys. 

The opportunity

The Line-wide Project commenced in 2019 and will be completed in 2024. The Line-wide Project covers the whole of the City & Southwest section of Sydney Metro between Chatswood to Bankstown.

The scope of the project includes Tunnel and New Station Fitout and construction of a new High Voltage Network. The project is currently in second half of construction and will be transitioning into the Testing & Commissioning phase in mid-2022.

This project is a rail project and requires interfacing with multiple critical stakeholders.

The primary purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of a significant package of rail infrastructure works within a Sydney Metro project.

The role provides senior management, professional and technical leadership in the delivery of work in the rail corridor, rail station and precinct (including utilities) construction aspects, and monitors activities to ensure that works are delivered to the required standards and in accordance with safe work methods and environmental practices.

The role will manage and work with contractors and service providers to deliver the works in a collaborative and cooperative manner, to support subsequent construction activities and to ensure the timely and effective delivery of the project.

About you

Engineering tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience with a proven record of “on time and on budget” project delivery of large-scale brownfield rail infrastructure works in an urban environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of the structure of public and private transport industries in NSW, associated legislation and safety standards.

This position is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW).
