We are the Cognitive Services Speech team which infuses the benefits of Speech AI into every aspect of our everyday life.  We do so responsibly, ethically, with obsession of our customers’ needs, and with a focus to grow Microsoft’s substantial AI platform and business.

 

To get there, we’re incorporating a diverse set of groundbreaking AI technologies across speech recognition, machine translation, computer vision, machine learning, human-computer interaction, and more. We infuse these technologies across a broad portfolio of first and third-party products.

 

We are looking for an individual to join our Speech PM team. We span the world of Speech Services, including Speech Recognition, Text to Speech, and features like Language Identification, Speaker Recognition, Custom Keywords and Audio Processing which are deployed both in the cloud and at the edge. Speech, which is instrumental to natural interaction, has matured enough to meet customer expectation yet has ample room for advancements ahead, allowing real opportunity for tangible impact and new customer delight. We are developing different speech capabilities and solutions to meet customers’ needs for their different scenarios like contact centers or captioning.

Responsibilities

In this role, we’re looking for an individual to join our Speech PM team. As a PM on this team, you are building and driving state of the art speech products that help customers apply AI in meaningful ways. Your responsibilities include

  • Focus on improving the user journey from Document, SDK, and Speech Studio Portal experience to improve the developer journey to use Speech capabilities
  • Work with internal and external customers to understand their scenarios and business drivers
  • Drive clarity on required work to drive user engagement and satisfaction
  • Requires data-driven focus and experience in driving toward metrics
  • Develop product plans and roadmaps for owned areas. Define capabilities and drive project execution
  • Collaborate with engineering and data science counterparts to drive the right technical design and tradeoffs necessary to meet customer goals

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical IT work experience is required.
  • 3+ years of working experience on a product using speech or audio technology related domains

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of experience programming in C++, Java or other computer programming languages preferred
  • Ability to work and build strong relationships with senior managers, leaders, partners and customers
  • The aptitude to engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; from end users to senior management/executives
  • Display skills in planning and project management 
  • Demonstrated ability in discerning and addressing relevant challenges to delivery
  • Must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and negotiate and collaborate effectively
  • Highly analytical - ability to understand business metrics, customer and market trends
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of computer science fundamentals that affect code implementation and customer experience
  • Great communication, inter-personal, and cross group collaboration skills; the ability to build and deliver effective presentations
