Responsibilities

As a Senior Program Manager for Azure Cognitive Search, you own and drive numerous core aspects of the service. You will work to identify key technologies both within Microsoft and the community that can be leveraged to enrich content used within the search service. You will work with partner organizations looking to leverage our search technology. Most importantly, you will work closely with customers to ensure they are able to successfully leverage Azure Cognitive Search and provide clarity to the engineering team to ensure we are building the most effective search technology in the world.  

  • Contribute to the vision, value proposition, and strategy of Azure Cognitive Search. 
  • Work closely with both dev managers and ICs to bring features to the product. 
  • Engage directly with customers and partners to integrate feedback and extrapolate customer benefit for improved product plans. 
  • Learn from market signals and customer feedback and apply learning to better improve our product design and solutions. 
  • Follow data-driven decision making, leveraging customer and platform data analytics to drive planning. 
  • Collaborate with the team and help your peers grow with hands-on mentorship, product guidance, and customer interactions. 
  • Be willing to get your hands dirty and use Cognitive Search!  Your testing of the product enables you to be a voice for our customers and understand their pain points and delights.

Position is remote work friendly. Preference is that someone can attend US-based time zone meetings. 

Qualifications

Qualifications 

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years of program/product management experience. 
  • Able to understand and write code for customer samples. 
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, SOLR, Lucene, or other search technologies. 
  • English proficiency required. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:    

. 

  • AI and content ingestion experience. 
  • Experience with a wide range of database technologies. 
  • Experience with Azure services. 
  • Experience building cloud platforms. 
  • BS in computer science or engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Open to feedback and effective at collaborating with a diverse group of people. 
  • Demonstrate independence, bias for action, and strong tolerance for ambiguity with a drive towards clarity.
