If so, the Platform Engineering team in Microsoft Digital has an opportunity for you.

 

We build the engineering tools and systems for the Devices Supply Chain (e.g. Surface, XBOX, HoloLens), Microsoft digital and physical retail stores, as well as partnering with the Azure team to support the Cloud Supply Chain (e.g. Azure Servers and Racks into datacenters). Supply Chain is key to winning in the Devices and Cloud business because it helps us with faster time to market, increasing profitability and improving our customer experience. We build our engineering tools and platform for HW engineers, Planners, Sourcing Managers, Factory Operations, Logistics and Warehouse Operations, Customer Support, Datacenter Ops, Microsoft Retail Stores - all of these are involved in the whole lifecycle from designing a product to ensuring we can build them at scale and deliver them to our customers. We partner with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers and retailers to make and sell Microsoft products and services.  

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Developer Experience (DevX) team in Platform Engineering is responsible for building the shared platforms and tools that allows us to efficiently build secure, reliable and supportable solutions that power our Supply Chain. As a Program Manager on the Developer Experience team, you will: 
  • Drive efficient onboarding of Microsoft Supply Chain partners/suppliers globally using our platforms supporting the Device launch and helping scale the devices business
  • Drive delivery and adoption of business capabilities/ technical solutions for Microsoft Supply Chain partners to improve partner efficiency while offering a rich partner experience.
  • Own the end to end Product launch for new Devices by streamlining various business processes and identifying opportunities for automation and efficiencies
  • Partner effectively with Engineering teams as well as Business stakeholders to support the dynamic world of Devices business
  • Communicate, coordinate, and align automation strategy with the engineering team members, make recommendations to improve reliability, performance, methodologies, and processes.
  • Work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities, commitment and programs
  • Strive for excellence in every aspect of your job including culture, communication, quality of products, engineering practices, tools etc.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience and skills: â€œ

  • 7-10 years of experience as a PM with demonstrated success 
  • Established success in areas of impact for influence, cross-group collaboration, and focus on positive outcomes 
  • Proven sense of high accountability and self-drive to take on and see through big challenges 
  • Must be a self-starter, organized and detail oriented 
  • Ability to partner with others to creatively solve challenging business/technology problems; proven success in working in matrixed organizations with a high degree of demonstrated executive maturity and impact for influence  
  • Flexible communication skills that can provide clarity to audiences that include customers, peers and executive leadership 
  • BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience

 Preferred, not required:

  •  Experience in developer platforms

The ideal candidate will have experience in a team environment, experience developing and designing enterprise scale services and platforms, technical depth in cloud platforms, agile development practices. In addition, this position requires an individual who can demonstrate the ability to ensure highly resilient and scalable service designs through partnership with other members of the service team.
