The Azure Global Infrastructure Strategy & Development team is looking for a strong, motivated, independent, and energetic program manager to drive complex project requirements, cross-team communication, and execution accountability across both technology and business projects within the Azure Global business portfolio. 

In this role, you will work closely with senior-level, deep-expertise globally situated peers in Geo-Expansion, Data Center, Operations, and Buildout disciplines to plan, coordinate, and execute complex infrastructure and cloud services-based projects. You will collaborate across multiple groups within and beyond Azure Global, such as Compute, Networking, Storage, Office 365, Cloud Operations + Innovation, Field/Sales, Supply Chain, and key customers. 

The successful candidate will have a bias for action, curiosity for the ‘whys’, a proven ability to maintain an outcome-based viewpoint, and an ability to fail fast and learn.  The successful candidate will also exhibit positive traits indicative of mentoring, coaching, and caring for team members to help them & the team succeed and achieve their goals. 

Responsibilities

Drive programs focused on getting Azure to reduce the time-to-market and cost of its hyper-scale footprint while meeting different specialized requirements from strategic industries.

Drive results and influence teams and organizations within and outside of Azure through cross-group collaboration.

Drive engineering & product development of existing/new Azure infrastructure platform & services.

Drive Region buildout plans and blueprints for Azure infrastructure and services to meet the most demanding customer requirements, and shepherd solutions that produce increased business productivity. 

Oversee capacity planning and capacity management to meet future customer growth in cloud services. 

Drive innovations by employing a product engineering mindset.

Lead and coordinate cross-team efforts to drive engineering solutions to technical challenges and deliver quality solutions to committed schedules and project plans. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

6+ years of software development and/or product management with a track record of shipping products and services.

Proven ability to analyze complex systems and drive solutions in collaboration with engineering teams. 

Demonstrated experience in planning, cross-group collaboration, communications, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.

Passion and proven record for execution with measurable results; focus on delivering impact.

Great problem solving, strategic thinking and technical skills. 

Self-driven, ability to work with minimal direction, and thrives in a team environment.

Excellent interpersonal, communication , collaboration skills & situational awareness. 

Experience with a metrics-driven mindset and the ability to experiment, learn, and improve.

Working knowledge of Cloud computing concepts, Architecture & ability to drill down to details to help engineers & up-level to communicate to executives as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications 

BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. MS or higher preferred

Prior experience designing and/or building complex enterprise scale distributed systems.

Familiarity with software development tools and techniques.

Good experience of engineering practices and engaging engineering teams so that you can express and drive new feature requirements in Azure.

Be able to ramp quickly to understand and solve complex problems. This might be integration of technologies or environmental issues that are blocking a scenario for a customer.

Ability to leverage telemetry and diagnostics to derive insights that add value to our operations.
