We are hiring passionate and talented Program Managers to deliver strategic capacity planning and engineering excellence initiatives for Microsoft Bing, Ads, Edge, Content Services, and Maps engineering teams with thousands of engineers around the globe. You may work with finance and engineering partners to establish a $1B+ budget for each fiscal year; create a multi-year capacity procurement plan to support business growth; prioritize the capacity needs of product teams by understanding the ROI; and drive continuous improvements of engineering systems within WebXT.

This is an energetic team in Microsoft with a startup atmosphere, where anything is possible. It is a KPI & experiment driven, agile & adaptive, high-performance team. A key part of your role will be building relationships with partners like Engineering Managers, Finance, Azure Capacity & Engineering Teams. Capacity cost and engineering efficiency have a direct impact on our financials and thus achievements here have a direct impact to our bottom line.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

• 5+ years of experience in software product cycle, either functioning as a Program Manager to drive features from initial planning, design, to implementation and release, or working as an Operations Manager to improve processes.
• Experience with leading cross-functional teams on complex projects and making decisions based on data and metrics.
• Experience with cost management and P&L.
• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied mathematics or related areas.

Preferred qualifications include:

• 5+ years of experience directly working with large scale software engineering systems (build and/or source control systems) in a program manager, product manager or software development function.
• Excellent cross-discipline collaboration and influence skills.
• Ability to be a doer who can span from strategic thinking to getting stuff done and consistently delivering.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to concisely frame problems, design solutions, alternatives, and product strategy.
• Passion for technology, efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and go deep in new focus areas.
• Experience defining, measuring, innovating, and driving change in large-scale software products and systems.
• Basic understanding of Containers, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, or Azure Container Service.
• An MBA degree is preferred.
