This is an exciting role driving the optimization and modernization of Microsoft Digital usage of Azure as part of our Azure Optimization team. Microsoft Digital develops and runs the experiences and services that Microsoft runs on and relies on to do business. We run one of the largest workloads on Azure in the world, and with that comes great responsibility to do it in the most optimal manner and to be constantly modernizing. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of Azure technology as we are customer zero for Azure!
In this specific role you will be focused on optimizing and modernizing our Microsoft Digital workloads in Azure. We do this through recommendations that we generate through data driven analysis. We run deep technical engagements with engineering teams to understand their tech stack and architecture and work with them to fine tune this for their workloads. We build experiences such as Stop Start to enable our engineers and customers to optimize their usage. We work with the product groups to build some of these experiences into products such as Azure Cost Management.
This is a very visible and impactful role that requires monthly updates to our Execs and requires a passion for working across-org as you look to drive impactful changes across our engineering org and to Microsoft customers.
While this is a PM role the successful candidate will need to be technical given the need to understand our Azure technologies, our usage of them, and work with engineering teams to implement change. It requires a candidate that loves data and will go deep on our data to identify broad opportunities to optimize or modernize our footprint. You will need to be able to build a vision for how we build experiences to enable broad adoption of our optimization and modernization effort across our engineering teams and customers.
