The Microsoft Digital Platform Engineering team builds the engineering tools and systems for the Devices Supply Chain (e.g. Surface, XBOX, HoloLens), Microsoft digital and physical retail stores and many of the other key financial and planning processes that Microsoft runs on.

The  SAP Data and Planning  team owns the data products that power all these key processes. Our job is to deliver a platform that makes data democratization simple for data providers and data consumers as well as specific data products to meet the needs of data analysts, data scientists and operational applications. The center of gravity in our data ecosystem is our SAP instances.

The specific role is for a Senior Program Manager to drive the vision and execution of Microsoft’s next generation SAP data and analytics implementation.

Responsibilities

Own and evangelize feature roadmaps to land a reference implementation of SAP data integration across multiple business processes

Lead sprint teams (i.e. consisting of SWEs and SREs) across the organization to deliver on the identified priorities

End-to-end data integration ownership of scope/priorities, schedule, budget, risks and issue management for Microsoft’s Federal SAP instance

Be the data integration on SAP subject matter expert for the organization

Support the development and evangelization of Azure/SAP data integration best practices

Democratize knowledge by writing whitepapers, blogs and contributing to technical documentation e.g. using SAP data for machine learning on the Azure platform

Demonstrate customer obsession and demonstrate the use of data to identify the top pain points and opportunities for driving impact

Qualifications

Required Experience:

10+ years combined experience: Program Management, Product Management, Data Science, Operations Research, Software Development, technical/engineering role(s).

5+ years of hands-on Implementation experience on large scale projects for data service, leveraging technology such as SLT, BW, BW4Hana, as well as big data technology and A.I.

Preferred, not required:

5+ years of hands on SAP ERP Implementation experience on large scale projects for data service, leveraging technology such as SLT, BW, BW4Hana, as well as big data technology and A.I.

A BA/BS degree in a technical field or related discipline

Master’s degree in a technical field or related discipline

Strong business and functional knowledge in SAP SD/MM (Sales and Distribution, Materials management), IBP Modules etc.

Established success in areas of impact for influence, cross group collaboration, and focus on positive outcomes

Proven sense of high accountability and self-drive to take on and see through big challenges

Must be a self-starter, organized and detail oriented

Proven success in collaborating across engineering, business, data science, and operational teams, up to and including working with Partner/GM level stakeholders.

Proven success in working in matrixed organizations with a high degree of demonstrated executive maturity and impact for influence

5+ years demonstrated proficiency in executive level presentations and communications

Flexible written and presentation communication skills that can provide clarity to audiences that include customers, peers and other leadership

Ability to quickly learn existing concepts and employ new techniques.

Competent problem-solving skills.
