About The Role
We are currently recruiting for 3-6 month fixed term contract for a Senior Marketing Manager - Targeted Marketing to lead and manage the targeted marketing team to deliver sales promotions and targeted value offers to grow loyalty of existing customer base and acquire new customers.
This covers defining the strategy through to overseeing the execution and managing the inter-dependencies of delivering activity across operations (Online, Retail Operations, Finance, Platform, Customer Services) and third party suppliers.
It also covers reporting on performance and understanding this to feed campaign improvements. This crosses all channels including coupons (digital/physical), emails, direct mail &push notifications. In addition to develop a motivating Loyalty proposition which will engage customers to use their card at point of purpose in order to collect data for the Business Lead development and delivery of the loyalty roadmap in conjunction with IT and the Business.
Our teams work to a '4 day week' with 13x 6 hour Saturdays per year (pro rata in this instance).
What You’ll be doing:
- Support in the development of the strategy to ensure relevant and timely offers and communications for customers; translating this into an activity plan for execution by internal colleagues and external agencies.
- Manage Air Traffic Control to ensure relevant, compliant and optimised communication for customers.
- Follow processes with Finance, Customer Services and IT teams to minimise customer issues and maximise relevancy.
- Use existing customer segmentation data [and advise on enhancements] to develop and execute offers that fit for specific customer cells.
- Follow best practice to ensure all communications and activities are compliant with customer data regulations.
- Ensure the customer experience is simple and efficient.
- Design and lead loyalty & coupon enhancements that reduce reliance and pressure on in-store and central colleagues
- Manage, coach and develop 4 direct reports to achieve objectives and develop talent.
- Embed the use of data led and therefore relevant and low cost marketing with the wider marketing and commercial functions.
- Lead the governance to ensure strategies are being implemented across internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure coupon and emails are effectively briefed to Customer Services centrally and in store to minimise any pressure on these teams.
- Ensure any changes to plans are communicated with and agreed with Finance.
- Manage individuals to deliver on communications and coupons in most cost and labour efficient through continuous process improvement and ensure external and internal accountabilities are met.
- Drive the thinking with senior stakeholders on the planning, development and delivery of the activity to support the future phases of the roadmap
- Deliver on campaign objectives
- Deliver in excess of £200m incremental sales per annum
About You
What skills and qualifications do I need?
- Strong understanding of marketing, sales promotions, direct marketing, data within a multi-site retail environment including maintaining key external and internal relationships.
- Senior Level Direct Marketing/Targeted Marketing experience
- Line Management
- Analytical experience.
- Grocery sector or FMCG experience.
- Ability to understand and communicate analytical concepts.
- Strong grasp of sales levers
- Manage individual responsible data / analytical and operational processes.
- Developing customer propositions and offers
- Influencing senior stakeholders
- Managing 3rd party contracts and service providers
