The Team
Asset Management provides resources and expertise to support the organisation in implementing best practice management of Sydney Trains assets.
The Enterprise Asset Systems team within Asset Management provides oversight and support for Sydney Trains' Enterprise Asset and Business Management Systems.
They are responsible for managing, implementing, testing, training and supporting users of the Enterprise Asset and Business Management Systems. The unit is also a conduit between Sydney Trains IT, MyIT and the TfNSW Centre of Excellence.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager in a Strategy and Planning focused role to join the Enterprise Asset Systems team within Asset Management where they will be responsible for ensuring that the financial and commercial framework for the Asset Systems Portfolio is established and aligns Asset Systems investment with business plans and strategic initiatives to enable business objectives for improved network performance, safety, and sustainability.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Enterprise Asset Systems, the Senior Manager Strategy and Planning leads the development and implementation of Asset Systems strategies and roadmaps that ensure the effective alignment and integration of technology strategies with business strategies. This includes development of the Asset Systems Asset Management Plan and Annual Works Program; the planning of a rolling roadmap, the delivery of scope and requirements, and management of effective business governance for review and approval.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading the development and strategic planning of new and enhanced Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) capabilities, technologies and business processes via information system solutions
Managing the interfaces between the annual strategic planning of the organisation and service providers and exercising strong stakeholder engagement skills to ensure strategic initiatives are effectively planned, resourced and budgeted in alignment with business objectives
Managing the strategic technical direction in relation to asset information management, and associated tools, to ensure effective utilisation of asset management related data and planning information
Managing the financial and commercial framework for Asset Systems aligned to funding submissions and approved budgets
Leading the execution of governance, reporting and review framework

About You
Commercial acumen gained from prior commercial strategy roles with a strong understanding of commercial success drivers (either from the private sector or similar government roles)
A strong track record of having worked with project financing including investment management, benefits analysis, financial portfolio management, commercial and contract management
Experience in managing projects in complex enterprise domains such as Enterprises Asset Management / ERP systems in SAP or equivalent;
The ability to quickly and efficiently understand the issues which arise from delivering large projects and diverse portfolios
Strong verbal/written communication and relationship management skills with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and utilise your strong influencing skills
Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Asset Management, Business, Information Technology or Engineering or equivalent experience is essential.
