Our Safety Environment Quality Risk (SEQR) team put our people and customers of Sydney Trains at the centre of everything we do. As part of Greater Sydney, SEQR provides services to Sydney Trains to deliver expert specialist support & advice about, safety, environment, heritage & sustainability, risk, health services & human factors in line with legislative & regulatory requirements.
The opportunity

We have a Senior Manager SEQR Service Delivery role available to provide Safety Environment Quality Risk(SEQR) business partner support, expertise and services into a key operating function of Sydney Trains.
This role provides expert advice to the senior managers of your customer portfolio to enable the business to meet operational requirements, promote compliance with regulatory standards and improve operational effectiveness.
What you will be involved in:
Leading the service delivery to the business customer to promote best practice and drive recognition of the business’ accountabilities regarding operational safety, environmental, quality and risk
Lead and direct a team of SEQR specialists to effectively service the business customer in delivering a range of safety culture improvement initiatives that delivers ongoing performance for the business
Providing strategic and expert input into the development and review of standards, policies, strategies
systems and processes, to consistently deliver safety improvements
Building the capability of the team utilising mentoring, training and peer support methodologies to develop SEQR operational expertise tailored to the needs of the business customer
About you
You are Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline and/or have equivalent industry-based experience leading a team in safety management, safety auditing and/or assurance wihtin a complex, high reliability / high risk operating environment.
You will have experience in applying contemporary integrated approaches in one or more of safety, environment, quality or risk and have a solid understanding of the application of safety management systems, monitoring and providing insights and analytics with regards to SEQR operational performance.
With the service delivery focus of this role, you will also have a strong customer orientation and strong influencing skills to negotiate a balanced outcome between operational needs and the achievement of a strong safety culture.
Your strong stakeholder engagement skills will see you engage with a broad range of stakeholders, and ideally you will have demonstrated experience in a high reliability, highly unionised environment.
