About the team
The Sydney Metro Enterprise Risk team exists within the Corporate Services Division. The team owns the Sydney Mero risk management framework and overseeing the embedding of this framework across Sydney Metro business and projects. It provides risk management leadership and supports the effective application of risk management. The team provides an ongoing assurance across all functional areas and in project management and facilitates monthly risk reporting to Sydney Metro Senior Management Committee and the Board.
The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Senior Risk Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting directly into the Director Risk Governance and Assurance, the primary purpose of the role is to manage and coordinate the risk management function, ensuring that all elements of the risk management framework are up-to-date, fit-for-purpose and effectively implemented. The successful applicant will also be involved in the following:
Maintaining the Sydney Metro risk management framework
Facilitating the management of strategic, enterprise and project risks
Maintaining the Sydney Metro Risk Appetite Statements framework, including associated reporting
Drafting risk reports to Sydney Metro Executive and the Board
Maintaining risk management training and support
Conducting assurance reviews of Line 1 deliverables, including control effectiveness testing
Facilitating risk reviews and workshops within business
Supporting and developing risk management tools (SWORD ARM, PowerBi reporting, etc)

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
5 - 10 years' Risk Management experience and ideally in a similar role have worked on large and complex infrastructure or engineering projects. Risk quantification experience is highly regarded.
To be proactive, resilient and enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage, influence and appropriately challenge stakeholders across a broad range of business functions.
To be able to elicit and analyse complex information.
Relevant tertiary qualification(s), engineering or construction management is preferred and risk management certification (i.e. RMIA Certified Risk Management Practitioner, PMI) advantageous.
