The opportunity

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Manager Program Planning to lead the prioritisation of project investment and the sequencing of the program of works to ensure a long-term sustainable pipeline of works, which meets customer, regional development and business requirements.

 

In this role, you will identify and articulate the rationale for priority projects and staging strategies, to inform short, medium and longer term investment plans through risk-based planning and effective collaboration with those involved across TfNSW and cross-government agencies to ensure alignment with related projects and program. 

What you will be involved in:

Lead the planning and sequencing of infrastructure and development projects to inform a pipeline of works and project priorities across the fast rail program.

Develop, implement and manage a staging/prioritisation methodology to provide efficient and effective risk-based planning and staging across the program for capital investment

Foster an evidence-based planning culture, informed by robust analysis, to guide priorities and investment in infrastructure, operational and development solutions across the fast rail program.

Establish and continuously review the capital program, to ensure the projects and sequencing represents value for money and aligns with business outcomes.

Provide proactive and timely advice and critical analysis on related issues to senior and executive management and coordinate and communicate recommended actions in order to mitigate potential risks

Build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders across the transport cluster and NSW government agencies

About you

This role requires an individual with a demonstrated commitment to the customer, understanding that our customers are at the front and centre of everything we do. You will display an adaptable and agile approach and an ability to navigate complex problems, be able to forward plan and provide strategic direction to foresee and manage future issues before they arise. 

 

In addition, you have a thorough understanding of planning and developing complex capital programs, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with TfNSW and cross government priorities, targets and outcomes.

You might have prior work experience in consultancy agencies with excellent communication skills and thrive on building partnerships with stakeholders. You have a demonstrated track record in having managed strategic project/program elements that require sustained leadership and negotiating solutions across organisational boundaries.You will have the ability to drive a high-performance culture across the business and be comfortable collaborating with key stakeholders. 

 

Key knowledge and experience:

Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies and an understanding of the full range of disciplines associated with management of projects / programs of work

Proven experience in the development and delivery of complex rail and/or transport infrastructure projects
