About us
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres, and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate metro, train, bus, ferry, light rail, road, and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.
The Division
The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a lessons management specialist to help drive a culture of learning, assurance, and improvement across our division. The successful candidate will manage the development and implementation of lessons/ knowledge management strategies, frameworks, programs and systems, ensuring we are learning from our experiences and that improvements are actioned and inform future program requirements.
You will also:
• Develop a learning culture driven by a highly competent, customer-focused and technology-aware workforce and to ensure division capabilities meet future workforce and customer needs as well as legislative requirements
• Lead the establishment of networks among operations specialists, facilitate lessons management workshops and forums, and establish knowledge networks to promote information sharing and collaboration
• Lead the analysis of current and future job needs, skills gaps, legislative requirements and lessons management to inform the development of appropriate training and capability uplift solutions.
• Oversee the development and implementation of training and competence assurance systems and frameworks
• Lead the development and implementation of programs and projects, related to capability uplift and competence assurance strategies, to ensure employees maintain and improve technical and non-technical skills required to perform role activities in a skilled, safe and effective environment
• Oversee the management of changes in legislation, competence development and technical currency to ensure these are clearly communicated, in compliance with WHS policy and practices
About you
We are looking for an inspirational leader who has a passion for continuous improvement, driving cultural change and previous experience in the design and implementation of lessons/knowledge management, competence assurance or similar programs. You will have a passion and background in continuous improvement, process improvement or learning and have experience in driving a culture of improvement in previous roles.
We are open to candidates from industries outside of Transport, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally vitally important.
