Senior Manager - Insights & Data Science - Central London - Competitive salary, bonus & benefits
My client, a global healthcare company based in Central London, is looking to recruit a Senior Manager - Insights & Data Science. Managing a team of 4, the Insights and Data Science team 1) are key business partners addressing executive leadership questions that drive business strategy, 2) delivers insight products to the commercial teams to drive growth and mitigate risk, 3) leads our test and learn agenda, and 4) will grow our capability to apply machine learning and other data science approaches to business challenges.
Key responsibilities:
Champion the use of data analytics and data science to support sourcing strategies while examining market dynamics and exploring innovative business opportunities.
Day to day team management. Coach and develop the team to grow their technical skills, stakeholder management abilities and overall business acumen.
Lead the development of analytical products that compile, analyse, and report on data using multiple technologies; gather requirements and modelling criteria leveraging agile methodology.
Lead the development of the test & learn capability of the company to optimise sourcing strategies.
Manage the compilation, analysis, and reporting of data to forecast trends, apply various analytical techniques (i.e. mathematical models and/or statistical techniques) to support supplier and cost optimization.
Develop the data science capability and business maturity to accelerate the creation of value through application of ML and AI tools.
Conduct analysis across data sets to simulate scenarios and apply different business models.
Oversee and, as needed, execute commercial deep dives into specific business area and translate data into actionable insight & recommendations.
Key skills:
Masters or PhD in Mathematics preferred or a heavily quantitative field or equivalent
Previous experience in an analytics or data centric function
Proven ability to lead a team to achieve goals by focusing on results.
Demonstrated consistent creative problem-solving capabilities.
Organisational and project management skills are critical using a consultative approach. Deep understanding of relevant statistical techniques and the ability to interpret the findings from this data, including in A/B and multi-variate tests.
Advanced data analysis skills (SQL and Alteryx preferred) and visualisation skills (Tableau preferred)
Experience with cloud-based data solutions such as Snowflake
R, Python or another core data science language.
Extreme attention to detail and follow-through.
