Scope/ Purpose of the Position:

 

Owns the successful delivery of Human Resources policies, programs, and services.

Is the primary Client representative to 3rd party providers with overall responsibility for managing and coordinating the performance of Air Canada’s obligations under various Agreements.

Initiates & leads innovation/automation to enhance Employee Experience and improve efficiency and performance.

Provides leadership to the Care, Solution & Thirds Party/Estates teams in their day-to-day HR operational functions: phone/email inquiries, benefits, travel, final time, leaves, HR transactions, employment confirmation, privacy and estates.

Champions continuous improvement initiatives in service delivery.

Key Functions & Accountabilities: 

  • Provide overall direction, leadership and support to the Employee Care, Estates and Services teams.
  • Work directly with internal business units, including Labor Relations, Pensions, Compensation, Legal, Benefits, Finance, Employee Travel, Corporate Insurance, Winnipeg Payroll, Corporate Tax; etc. to resolve issues and build/maintain exceptional working relationships.
  • Own the strategy & delivery roadmap to support Corporate ECX project.
  • Overall accountability to successfully meet Care, Solution, Estates KPI targets
  • Lead automation initiatives to improve overall team efficiencies over a period of (24) months.
  • Guide the overall account relationship with 3rd party providers

  • Work directly with external partners as required to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
  • Manage the budget for the Employee Care, Estates and Services teams and any 3rd party service delivery. 
  • Leverage the Company  Portal (acaeronet), HR Connex and other web applications to ensure HR policies, programs and services are delivered in a user-friendly and cost-effective manner. 
  • Drive process automation initiatives related to process improvement and employee experience.
  • Develop the business case for new system development and provide leadership for all projects and change efforts that are approved.
  • Market the Air Canada ECT brand with internal customers and identify areas of improvement.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English/French (writing/speaking)
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR preferable or other related Business University Degrees + 5 years of Leadership experience
  • Excellent Leadership & Interpersonal skills.  
  • Strong Customer Focus and ability to build positive relationships with internal clients. 
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish good employee relations at all levels of management.
