About Finance and Investment Division

Finance and Investment (FID) is a trusted advisor to the Transport Cluster, and partners with our stakeholders to make all financial and funding considerations for our once-in-a-generation $71.5 billion infrastructure program.

We provide best in class financial services to support decision-making on transport services, infrastructure investment and delivery. FID plays a critical role in project planning and funding, enterprise planning and financial management and control.

The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Senior Manager, External Budgeting & Forecasting to join us in the Enterprise Planning, Budgeting & Analysis division.

Reporting to the Director External Budgeting & Forecasting, this role is a key member of the leadership team which is the conduit between NSW Treasury and TfNSW providing advice and insights related to funding.

This role leads the management and oversight of Prime (NSW Treasury system) for all Transport Cluster related matters, including budget and forecast variation submissions, submission of actual results and funding adjustments. The role will also lead the consolidated management of funding sources for the Transport Cluster, including close collaboration with the cash management team, reporting on funding compilation and adjustments, collaboration with NSW Treasury on funding adjustments and ensuring Prime reflects the most accurate and recent position. Overall, the role will drive external budget obligations and ensure financials are accurately reflected in the NSW Treasury Financial Management System (Prime).

About you

You are tertiary qualified (Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline) with relevant industry experience, and full membership of a recognised professional accounting body (CPA/CA ANZ or equivalent).

Experience in a government agency will be highly regarded in this role.

Comprehensive technical knowledge with respect to Treasury Budget Policy.

Extensive experience in the development and maintenance of budgets and forward estimates.

A demonstrated ability to achieve multiple internal and external deadlines.

A good communicator with an excellent ability to develop manage key stakeholders.

An ability to work in a fast paced, complex and dynamic matrix environment.
