The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Senior Manager Environment and Sustainability role in the Western Parkland, Integrated Precincts and Urban Renewal team.  You would lead a team providing high quality, timely and pragmatic environmental and sustainability management of projects, programs and operations. Reporting to the Director Western Parkland, Integrated Precincts and Urban Renewal, the role will ensure that best practice environment and sustainability outcomes are achieved for the development and delivery of major infrastructure projects in Western Sydney. You will be responsible for building relationships with Transport teams and external regulators and other key stakeholders related to the activities and needs of their client portfolio.

About you

• Proven experience in environment and sustainability best practices in complex operating environments associated with major infrastructure projects and programs
• Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement environment and sustainability policy, procedures and measures, including monitoring/reporting mechanisms, practices and the processes and practices involved in compliance for delivering on major infrastructure projects and programs
• Strategic thinker with proven leadership capability
• Able to act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and build effective relationships
• You will understand the challenges and opportunities of working within a matrix-based organisation, and of collaborating with multiple deployed teams
• You will be an inclusive and persuasive communicator
• Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, sustainability management and practice, environmental planning, engineering or related discipline.
