About the team

Community and Place team engages with customers, communities and stakeholders within our Greater Sydney region to understand their needs. We do this to ensure our infrastructure projects and transport services make a positive contribution to people’s lives, create vibrant communities and support a sustainable future.

We do this by working with teams across Transport and sharing community and place insights

This is to achieve our goal to improve access, quality of life, and sustainability and improve customer and community outcomes.

 

The opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced senior manager who will drive the development and implementation of project-specific community and stakeholder engagement plans throughout a project lifecycle. Reporting to the relevant Director, the role also provides expert advice, and advocacy in relation to identified customer and community needs and outcomes for the project.

 

 You will be involved in: 

  • Providing authoritative and expert advice regarding community needs and project outcomes as part of the project planning, development and delivery process
  • Partnering with Project Directors and providing direction to the project team on management of community and stakeholder engagement
  • Developing and implementing project-specific community engagement programs and stakeholder management plans in order to clearly communicate outcomes and benefits, and to minimise issues during the project
  • Effectively planning, organising and coordinating the activities of a team of professionals to ensure objectives are achieved to the highest standard within agreed timeframes 
  • Contributing to the development and success of a wider place engagement team as an expert practitioner and leader

 

About you

You are a senior manager with extensive experience in developing communication and engagement strategies for communities and stakeholders, as well as balancing priorities that deliver improved outcomes for customers and communities. As an experienced manager you demonstrate strong influencing, and balanced decision-making skills.

A customer-centric approach is what will see you succeed in this role. You will have a flair for building and managing relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders. Experience with large infrastructure projects is welcomed. 

You will demonstrate skills that allow you to navigate priorities whilst driving performance in a politically and commercially sensitive environment.
