About this role

We are moving to a world where we have the data / insight to understand who our customers are and how we target. We are moving to a world where we have trading stats at our fingertips to know what is happening today and tomorrow.

The main challenge for this role is how you will embed yourself in the trading performance, you will need to understand the numbers, but more importantly what are the numbers telling us and what does that mean for the plan? So it is really about taking a step back, and thinking one, two, three steps ahead to ensure we know what’s coming, why and what do we do to accelerate or mitigate. 

The commercial and proposition team for CPS is responsible for setting and delivering the business plan for the segment by creating the right portfolio and the right commercial/trading plan to deliver the business and customer outcomes to win in the market and grow the business profitably.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Ownership of the construct, implementation and tracking of the CPS commercial plan.

Ownership of the build of the MTP and of the overall CPS trading view taking input from regional and tower trading leads.

Ownership of the formal commercial forecasts for the year, and to interlock this with Finance.  This includes volumes, ARPUs, dilutions etc.  But also tracking from sale to WIP to won not WIP to base, then netting off churn.

Ownership of the overall performance insights and data analysis  covering lead and lag indicators to ensure MTP requirements are measured and gaps are highlighted and interventions in place.

Accountable for the collation and understanding of strategic KPI’s  e.g. Re-sign dilution, Churn %, performance of key campaigns to aid all stakeholders to understand region and business performance.

Set and then track the performance of the commercial KPIs every month and formally report to MD / RSDs.

Tracking of the financial performance of the props and commercial interventions roadmap.

Track the pipeline build, win rates and the resultant expected conversion.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Effective planner and forward thinker: Someone who can create momentum behind well-structured plans and effective governance in a highly matrixed environment.

Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g., business KPIs, business cases).

Financial acumen: Ability to create bottom-up P&L’s and use key financial metrics (i.e. IRR and NPV) to determine commercial intervention or pricing strategy targets.

Storytelling with data: strong skills in articulating the benefit or requirement associated with a strategy; drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business.

Exemplary Communicator: Verbal and PowerPoint presentations that boil complex plans and processes into the key relevant information and/or decision point for stakeholders in BT Enterprise, at all levels and from different parts of the business.

Brilliant collaboration working in a matrix management environment: Someone who can work across multiple teams to share data and insights to drive the output required to move the plan forward.
