Customer Operations works seamlessly to deliver memorable customer journeys each and every day, both now and into the future. We have significant challenges ahead of us with increased patronage and evolving customer expectations.
It means that we focus on the delivery of consistently excellent service and strong operational performance, while at the same time delivering major projects that create capacity across the network.
The primary purpose of the Performance function is to provide data-driven and actionable insights to promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Performance, the Senior Manager Assurance leads the Assurance function, which provides an independent second layer of defence to the Chief Customer Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
You will ensure that processes and procedures are performed in accordance with Sydney Trains defined standards. Ultimately, you will oversee compliance activities to ensure employees are compliant with processes, standards, procedures and are fit for work.
What you will be involved in
Managing the delivery and allocation of Assurance and Compliance related services ensuring that appropriate and timely resource allocation delivers a consistent, quality standard that effectively supports business outcomes
Managing Assurance and Compliance of key safety critical operational processes
Providing strategic and expert input into the development and review of standards, policies, strategies, systems and processes, considering operational constraints and requirements to consistently deliver governance efficiencies and improvements
Developing and overseeing assurance and compliance activities and engage with stakeholders across Customer Operations to ensure effectiveness
Supervising and coach staff, overseeing work completed, and facilitating development of the skills required to develop internal expertise
Facilitating awareness of the assurance framework and promoting a culture of quality and compliance

About you
You are a seasoned professional who is experienced in driving quality performance in a customer centric, high risk and regulated environment. As a thought leader, you will have a collegiate and collaborative leadership style and a proven track record in driving outcomes and building success across a diverse workforce. Your highly advanced stakeholder management skills mean you can navigate complex processes and priorities while bringing others along on the journey.
Your detailed knowledge and understanding of assurance, quality management and compliance, underpinned by experience developing, operating and managing relevant functions will set you up for success in the role. Your experience in developing pragmatic solutions to improve quality or safety management systems in large complex organisations will be highly valued.
