The Senior Management Accountant provides management accounting services for the business unit.  You will provide financial advice, information and analysis to assist managers make timely and informed financial decisions thus enabling the proactive management of financial performance and accountability for public funds.

The key responsibilities include monthly variance reporting and analysis, forecasting year-end results, and facilitating the annual external budgeting processes. This position also plays a key role in setting the organisation’s internal budgets, carrying out budget reviews during the financial year, and providing support to budget managers. This is a senior role within the finance team and the Senior Management Accountant is expected to work collaboratively with other finance team members and management teams in contributing to delivery of the annual objectives.

Qualifications and experience:

• Will hold a relevant accounting qualification, preferably NZ Chartered Accountant (CA) qualified, and be committed to maintaining that qualification.
• Significant experience in financial and management accounting with a level of professional creditability.
• Experience with financial forecasting and modelling.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and run complex Excel models.
