This is a broad and diverse role that primarily supports Sky’s advertising business (Sky Media) and its DTA (data, technology & analytics) business areas.

You will flex your negotiation skills and advise on a wide variety of matters including,: (a) revenue generating deals (e.g. the sale of advertising and sponsorship on channels and platforms); (b) Sky’s commercial dealings with data; and (c) digital partnerships (including AdTech) deals. You will also have exciting and varied opportunities to negotiate and draft commercial contracts advancing Sky’s platforms across the wider Group, including Sky Glass platform syndication, Peacock and SkyShowtime. A great opportunity to see and understand how everything pulls together to make Sky the success it is today.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a first class in-house legal team, collaborating closely with other legal and business teams across Sky UK, the Sky Group and Comcast/NBCU. The role offers a great variety of cutting-edge commercial work and first-class opportunities for development and growth.

Hybrid Working model: 3 days a week in the office and 2 from home

What you\'ll do:

• Work closely with your commercial, finance and legal colleagues in the UK and ROI and collaborate with colleagues in Italy, Germany, and Austria, as well as the wider Comcast / NBCU Group, to deliver great products and advertisements to Sky customers
• Draft, negotiate and manage high profile commercial deals on an autonomous basis, and as support the wider Legal department on large multi-stream deals
• Advise senior partners on legal and commercial risks, potential impacts and propose business focused solutions to mitigate the impact of any risk
• Present complex legal concepts in an easy to digest manner that aids decision-making
• Prioritise a wide range of complex matters that require legal support and guidance
• Supervise and develop more junior members of the team and manage internal and external legal resource
• Gain an in-depth understanding of Sky’s media, advertising and data business areas and products as well as the wider TV landscape
• Get experience in other areas covered by the TME team including supply-side contracting

What you\'ll bring:

• Qualified lawyer ideally from a jurisdiction based on UK law;
• Extensive commercial contract experience within a highly regarded law firm or equivalent in-house;
• Experience in (a) engaging with senior commercial partners and distilling complex legal issues and risks arising from sophisticated agreements; and (b) developing others;
• Also desirable would be experience in advertising, licensing, technology, and data privacy law;
• High degree of autonomy in negotiation of deals and commercial contracting without supervision;
• Strong drafting and negotiating skills
