The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to join Sydney Metro’s high performing Legal team. Reporting to a Director Legal, you will deliver high quality, high value, timely and solutions focused legal services and independent advice for the organisation with a focus on front end construction procurement.

The role provides expert advice in relation to projects that are highly complex, highly sensitive, have a high profile and have high financial, reputational or operational risks, as well as on more day to day routine matters such as high volume construction and projects work.

About you

• You are a proven professional looking for a career-defining opportunity to build a legacy for generations to come.
• You will have demonstrated experience in providing expert legal advice on complex or contentious matters, and can influence and drive change with a thorough understanding of complex contractual terms and conditions.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with the legal and project teams in a complex project environment will be essential.
• You will have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to balance competing priorities while providing consistent high quality strategic and responsive legal advice.
• You will have strong analytical skills, and the ability to make commercial decisions within a legal context.
• Eligible to hold a practicing certificate in NSW
• Superior current knowledge and expertise in at least one of the following areas of law:
  • Front end construction law
  • Contract law on Infrastructure projects
  • Energy and Resources Law
• Proven capability to develop skills in other practice areas

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Grade 8 $120,423.00- $134,872.00per annum plus superannuation.
