Job Description

Role Responsibility

Senior Journalists help manage the news team and produce our daily news programmes.  It is a role that requires leadership, excellent writing skills, editorial judgement and radio production – often making decisions under pressure.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong understanding of the Asian Network audience and how we can best serve them. In the words of presenter, Ankur Desai, “This is the first port of call for British Asians to turn to when they want their fix of News, Sport and Entertainment – with plenty of healthy debate about issues which are at the heart of our rich and diverse communities”.

You should be able to evidence original, impact journalism where stories have reached underserved audiences – particularly on digital platforms and have the ability to use creative flair to explain stories whilst maintaining standards of accuracy and impartiality.

We are looking for someone with the ability to lead daily teams and help to build an inclusive and collaborative department - mentoring junior members of a team, giving constructive feedback to colleagues.
